I own an E24 635csi. We have decided to install a BMW 12 cylinder. So I am seeking information and leads on a great engine investment.

The big tech question: Has anyone seen a 12 cylinder attached to a E24 five speed? Anyone have any thoughts?

That's why they call me Mad Dog

The E24 5 speed or any 5 speed that is behind an in line BMW motor will not work as the bellhousing for the 6 cylinder engine is very small. The 6 cylinder uses a very small flywheel even on the M6. The V-12 has a much larger flywheel diameter. The 6 speed for the V-12 is huge and longer and may not fit in the tunnel or allow the shifter to be positioned correctly. BMW did use a 6er with a V-12 in it for a test vehicle in the late 80s, There have been some pictures floating around the internet of this car, it is red with large fronr fender flairs.
