Before you embark on this project, you should know that if yours is an early model E31, the wiring harness connectors will be different, and the mirror electrical connections also won't plug in.

Also, let's be honest here. The visibility with the M teardrop mirrors really is very poor. The mirrors are so small, you can't really see anything approaching until it's too late. Stick with the rectangular shaped mirrors. Your life may depend on it.
