Fun first Bimmer cruise with other 8's (archive)

Heidi, Haden, and I joined up with Derek, Emir, and the rest of the Vancouver BMW club for lunch and a drive around Whidbey Island, Washington. The weather was great and the roads were scenic and fun. We were late to the meeting spot so putted around likely roads looking for them but no luck. Turns out getting across the border took longer than expected and they arrived after we were already off scouting for them and several times we came within minutes of each other. Oh well, we met later for lunch in the historic little town of Coupeville.

Got to see the other cars. Derek's car was spotless and you could perform open heart surgery in his engine compartment. Emir's car was fun to watch going down the road all hunkered down & racy looking. We got mildy lost a few times which added to the amusement and there was an ironic twist when we ended up behind a tractor going through one of the best sections of open windy road.

It was fun to meet the some of the people behind the names. Hope to see them again soon and meet some of the other Northwest 8 series owners.
