1) Get a set of Metric allen wrenches-don't bugger yours up with english sized tools
2) I don't see you timing chain as a problem unless you have in excess of 200K on it. The M20 engines have a belt, but you have an M30 engine.
3) Water pums are just as easy to change later. The writer below is correct that with the M20 engines, they are easier to change when changing the belt.
