Hi,

This is more of a story of how I fixed my interesting problem for others rather than a question.

Last Thursday, I came out to my 89 750 at lunch time to find it unlocked. I thought that it was odd, because I am usually not that absent minded to leave it that way.

Saturday morning I woke and went out to the car to run to the parts store for my 911 racer project to again find it unlocked.

As I left the drive I decided to lock the doors on the inside as I drive (something I normally do not do). Sure enough about half way to the store the locks unlock on thier own. I went to the store and came back out to find the doors unlocked again.

Now, at this point, all I have to do is lock the doors and they unlock again within 10 seconds.

To make a long story short (too late) I tracked down the problem to the driver door. I figured that the switches must have been shorted by some water in the door (based on the water in the trunk) (it has been very wet here and I leave the car out at night).

I pulled open the inner door panel at the bottom and stuck the nose of my heat gun in the opening and left it run for a couple of hours. This did the trick...for now.

Thanks

Ed
