Why even everytime i start my car the warning light on the dash board never lights up? Is it burned? Do i need to replace it? I have use the petrol as low as the light could comes on... but i just curious to know is there a way i could check whether the light are functioning?

My 88 750 'reserve fuel light' doesn't light up with the rest of the pilot's when ignition is first turned on either. Some models do. However - I do know that my reserve light works as it came on one day when I had about 8 - 10 litres left in the tank (this is correct factory spec). It is unlikely that these bulbs would blow at such an early age because they are seldom illuminated. Incidentally I had to drive around for a long time on empty for this to happen. When I first bought the car the previous owner told me that you would have to be a complete idiot to run out of fuel in this particular car and now I know why he said that.
Cheers,
Brian.
