Hmmm...I don't think it is a functional button, just a concave area, but who knows, I could be a total idiot and didn't know the thing pushes in. I will check it out.

I don't think I have a button, just a depressed square to pull it up and down.


I've never seen that problem. Are you using the button at the top/front of the armrest to release it from the closed postion?
