My brake "bomb" on my 1988 735i needs to be replaced-shows all the symptoms of having gone bad. The instructions that come with the new one instruct you to make two tools-a strap for the "bomb" and another rectangular piece wth holes in it for the regulator. Instructions are not clear regarding materials, etc. The Bentley, on the other hand, calls for removal of regulator, clamp it in a soft-jawed vice, and remove the accumulator and it also calls for torque specs on the accumulator to regulator connection. How is it possible to make this connection to a specific torque? I assume that that is the reason for the special home-made tools described in the accumulator instruction (which, as mentioned, are not clear). Dilemma...
Does anyone have instructions based on experience on how to go about this task? Is this really a relatively easy DIY, as some posts have indicated, or should it go to a mechanic?
Thanks
