I believe the tach signal comes from the inductive leads on one spark plug wire on either cylinder bank.

I'm installing a Crimestopper remote starter in the 88' 750IL and have been told that I can get the tach signal from the diagnostic connector under the hood but I'm not sure what pin #. The first choice is getting the signal from the neg. on the coil but this didn't work (this signal is used to tell the starter that the engine is running and to stop cranking).
Any help on the diagnostic pinout would be a great help.

Thanks
Eric 88' 750IL
