Yeah, on my 89 750iL I pop the right side of the seat and then disconnect the power seat wire and "curve" it out and unplug the battery and remove it. Do the same to replace battery and seat.


We are all assuming you have already carefully removed the plastic surround from the seat belt catch (by removing the electric switch tops and undoing 2 screws - now visible) and under that you will find a bolt near the seat belt catch, and you have unplugged the sensor that connects to that seat belt catch?!
Also - the catch under the front of the seat that 'snaps' into the car body should have a plastic 'lever/button' that you push to help it pop out properly.
Please just don't go yanking things out on these cars - you just might teach yourself a very expensive lesson (like I did).
