Did you try disconnecting the brake sensors and shorting the two pins at the plug? This will eliminate the sensors completely and indicate a wiring problem. I would short both plugs first and if the message goes away, restore one sensor at a time until you find the culprit (if it is a sensor).

Does anyone know how to troubleshoot a false "Brake Linings" message in the check control display? Both sensors check out with good continuity.
