I don't understand. If the water leaked out the hose, this does not seem to imply the water pump is bad. But you also said all hoses were fine. I must have missed something?

My 735i '88 156k

had a problem this week. all of the antifreeze leaked through the small hos
connected to the coolant resevoir. Doe s this mean that I need to replace the
waterpump or is there another solution. I checked all hoses ...they are fine.

If the pump is the culprit ...can I do the replacement without costly problems and lots
of time? If I need to take her in to a mechanic.....how do I get her to a shop without
overheating the engine? I need to drive about 10 miles to the mechanic.
