With the ball joint nut loosened but still on the stud, use the jack to put some pressure on the stud. Try not to hit that heat shield behind the rotor. You can decide whether you just want to crank it until it pops loose or if you want to gradually increase pressure. I would give it a few cranks and a couple squirts of WD-40 and let it sit for a few minutes. After repeating a few times, it popped loose and could take out the jack, the nut and the thrust arm with ease.
