An EML light on a 88 735iA? Does your car have traction control? I thought that the traction control came well after 88. Maybe you are in Europe which offered traction control well before US. In any event, EML means "Electronic Motor Load" It is the electronic throttle by wire sytem. All cars with traction control utilizes this system. The light means there is a fault with some portion of this system. The fault is usually the DK motor (throttle) due to age and wear of the internal brushes and encoder ring. There are procedures to rebuild these units...do an archive search.

from several weeks, on my ´88 735iA, apear a EML sign on, I understand is a Electronic motor-performance-regulation. EML wich replaces the conventional mechanical transfer between accelerator and throttle through an electronic control. But how Can I solve this sign on, Its worth driving with this sign
thank in advance
