According to the guy selling the 12 disks units, the older Pioneer head units can recognize the 12 disk changers. Something about the "band" button going from Cd1 for disks 1-6, then CD2 for disks 7-12.

I couldn't possibly imagine how the older BMW head units could recognize 12 disks.


I know this guy who sells a 12 DISK, YES
12 DISK changer that is compatible with the stock head unit .It's Pioneer and it works great. Let me know if you want details..
