Wow, that is a bummer. I am not sure what Islandic Green looks like, but my '93 740i is green (link below) and I had a bubbled paint patch the size of a quarter repaired. It was smack in the middle of the rear drivers side door and my biggest fear was matching. I even contemplated not doing it, but since it could have been rust, I wanted to nip it. They did a fantastic job. I can't even tell and I believed they really just spot fixed it and did not paint the entire door. 100% undetectable.

I good paint guy should blend and match with perfection. I would not demand them to paint the whole car, this actually decreases the value for resale to future enthusiasts. However, I would demand quarter panel replacement and not repair of the dent.
