have you been able to figure out what digit in your VIN denotes the year of manufacture??

Also, what does ECE stand for (I assume it is European C___________ E_________) but what is the "CE"

its fun learning about our friends' across the pond....

My 735 GB ECE version has a "0" where the year digit should be, otherwise it conforms.

I just did the math on your check digit to see if it matched (I'm kinda bored, obviously). Sure enough, it did. I was shocked. So i guess its back to the drawing board as far as finding a source for interpreting what the model year is. Could you try calling or emailing BMW hdqtrs??? Any other Euro owners out there that could help?
