Find you a good exhaust shop that has high skills and tell them what you want spec wise and you may be surprised. My 735i 88 had an after market exhaust and an new muffler (parts and labor) was only $30 after I got rear ended but I think the guy must have felt sorry for me. Really do watch it on an old BMW. If your cat is bad, which I doubt you should get out for $200 and not be sorry 2 years later. Do your research but if you are cash heavy just take it to a dealership. I have gone OEM and after market and the cost was the only difference I have found over the past 8 years.

You know how they say you need to take this car on the road and really open it up to "Blow it out" in order for it to run at maximum effeciancy? The same thing goes for the credit limit on your credit card...."blow it out" on a stainless steel bosel sp? unit. No, seriously, finding an exhaust is going to be expensive. $1,200 is my guess.

Where can I find stock exhaust systems for my 88 735i without spending a fortune? I don't want junk, but some of the exhaust system prices are scarey.
