I bought my 1988 735 about 6 months ago. Since then, I have been diagnosing and repairing small problems like the Brake Bomb, the Parking lights / Tail Lights message, ect. You know the stuff us DIY people really get off with. Well, last week I hit the Lottery of Fix Its. If you are FAmiliar with the Standard Cassette Radio in the US Cars, well since I bought mine, the only lighting available was the Station Display and the Alarm lights. The Preset Button, Seek, Tuner, ect lights were out. There comes a time in your BMW career where you gotta fix it and this was it. I located the Radio CODE card. Pulled the radio from the Dash Board, took it into my office and kept disassembling it till I found the problem. Now Keep in Mind, that finding a bad solder joint ( you know, like the ones that you have found in the Mustard Relay and the LKM ) needs to be done with a Jewlers Loop, but I found it. It was located on the mini Circuit board which is attached to the volume control potentiometer. You have to remove the Black cover on the top of the radio, not the metal cover.

Well, it you have the same problem, this is the fix. I did it dash to dash in 40 minutes.

Would like to hear from others who have this problem.
