if you're worried about price, try designing and installing one yourself. It's not hard, especially on a six cylinder. I did it on my V-12 with good results. Suggestions: (1) absolutely get rid of the resonator (first "muffler" immediately after the cats), (2) use a single 2-1/2" exhaust pipe (all the aftermarket pieces replace the stock phoney "duel" exhaust with a single pipe), or maybe a 2-1/4", (3) for a muffler, Edelbrock makes a very nice stainless steel, 19" long piece that will fit in the alcove which houses the stock muffler at the end. Can be mail ordered from jegs.com for about $100. There are dozens of exhaust tips out there from Borla, etc., which also can be found at jegs. Any decent muffler shop can weld up a custom pipe and install the muffler. Be warned that while it won't be "boy racer," it certainly will be louder than stock--more like sitting in a 911 than a caddy. If its too loud for you, you can stick a small muffler, such as from Borla, in the space formerly occupied by the resonator. Cost for whole system should be around $300-500.
