Reading the diagnostic code, I get (near as I can figure) a code of "2"
ON for 1/2 sec
Off for 1/2 sec
On for 1/2 sec
OFF for 3 sec
ON continuously until key off or engine start.
This totally doesn't align with any references I've seen on the DME diagnostic codes (unless it's trying to tell me I should *REALLY* have a V12 under the hood!;-)
By screwing around in various ways (mostly holding the throttle full ON for 10 seconds or more), the light eventually went out, but came back on within 30 seconds of driving.
Just prior to this, I had the OIL PRESSURE switch replaced and my mechanic bent/bashed the heat shield away from where it was *sometimes* contacting the driveshaft. I'm thinking O2 sensor may have gotten nubbed, but really have no idea.
Your help would be appreciated... and YES, I've already thought of removing the bulb behind the Check Engine indicator!
TIA
