Hi!
I am using an additive called QMI on my 1990 735iA, with very good results( on engine ). Took an oil sample before & after using QMI using a tech. lab, and metal in oil is after treatment much lower. Am using the same on my aut. trans, with same result. What is importent with additives, is that it must NOT contain chloride. Clhloride will after some time, destroy your bearings ( white metal in bearing cups )
Results after treat with QMI, is 10 % less use of gas, & more easy going motor.. I`m also using Royal purple motor oil, ( full synt ) with good result.

Has anyone tried this (American ) products ?
