I have an 89 750 with 69,000 miles I am the original owner of the car and it still runs and drives great. Just make shure you check the service records good. These are very reliable cars yes expensive to maintain but I have never been stranded on the side of the road. Coupple of things to check are.
1. Check all electrical make shure everything works
2. I would have a good independant mechanic or shop check every thing on the car to make shure every thing works the way it's supposed to.

Don't want to scare you the 750 is a really nice car alot of power and is very smooth but it's also very expensive to maintain you can easily spend over $100 on it in a month to a year. Like last month I needed some work done on it the A/C the drivers door lock It cost $600 and this is a mechanic frend who works on BMW and did this for me
