Thanks for your comprehensive reply!

I followed your instructions and, along with the Bentley, opened up the blower fan housing. I had to work through a few surprises getting in there because the Bentley was not as complete as I had hoped. Nothing major, though. When I got to the motor I tested the impellers and found the shaft to be tight. I then removed the motor in order to put a few drops of oil on the bushing on each side of the motor and rotate the shaft to work the oil in a bit. I'll see how it works over the next few days. Being a novice at repair, the job took three hours...no doubt twice as long as it probably should have, but I didn't want to make a mistake.

One difference I found between your instructions and what I found once I got in there was that my motor is made by Bosch, not Behr.
