On the passanger side of my UK 750iL the bonnet comes down a centimeter or so below where it should be and subsequently the windshield wiper arm rubs on the bonnet.

Are you sure the bonnet is actually out of alignment?
It is VERY common for these year models to rub that wiper arm (mine does also) especially if they come from somewhere that the wipers were used a lot e.g. England.
I think the wiper arm mounting can be bent a little to alleviate the rubbing but in any case it is a common symptom.
