BAS Chip Probs? (archive)

I bought a BAS chip for my 88 735i and installed same, whereupon I found my car running rough at low speeds especially after time on the highway. A friend also told me that the car seemed to smoke on cold starts much more than he had ever seen (my car has 72k and uses absoutely no oil, neither was there any coolant loss.) Overall the car ran rich and I was not happy with the results. Has anyone else run into anything similar?
