My "balance" on my 17" wheels was supposedly good, but a better, more precise balance on a machine that simulates rolling resistance fixed the shake. Not sure if it was a Hunter, but they did have one at Discount Tire.

Don't have concrete 'do this' info for you but you might try finding a tire shop with the new Hunter GSP9700 vibration control machine. From what I can tell from their website this machine might help. I haven't used one myself yet but have e-mailed Hunter to locate a shop in my area that has one...my time is coming! Here are some excerpts I copied from their website FYI:

Up until now the wheel service industry just balances. The GSP9700 fills the gap doing 75% more than balancing."

I've been having pretty severe shimmy/vibration with set of 16" chrome factory wheels with 225/60/16 Uniroyal tiger paw tires. Vibration is worst in morning and on hard turns. Mechanic has done alignment and changed bushings. He has also checked rims and tires- all are ok. In frustration, swapped sets between my 750 and my 735; the trouble was transfered to the other car which was previously running smooth. What the h#@? is going on? Mechanic says best bet is to just by a set of oem rims and tires (opinion shared by two shops. Any advice would be appreciated.
