Thanks Max, the levelling air pump (it is either an air or a vacuum pump) is for the auto h/lamp levelling I think, see other posted question. I don't think the vent flaps are causing the damp as it is all at the rear of the trunk, not the sides and I can see water on the inside back panel of the car.
