Yes that's the only way to lock and unlock the doors no BMW locks them automaticly when you turn the key not even my 98 318I not even my moms 1994 Mercedes S420. So that's the way they are.

Thank you, thats what i wanted to know. Was just not sure, but don't you think this is still odd for a 54,000 car. JJP
