Bentley says detach the rod from the pedal and measure its length before intalling new. By the way, did you have to disconnect the battery to remove the trim under dash? Doesn't make sense, but that's what Bentley says. Regards,

I am removing my brake booster from my '89 750iL. I have been able to remove the four nuts from inside but don't know how to remove the rod from the brake pedal going into the booster. How do I detach the pedal from the booster? I tried pulling the booster foward but it pulled the rod along with it so I assumed they are attached somehow. Can someone help!
