What worked for me when my battery went dead was to turn the key in the passenger door from 12 to 2, then I pulled up on the door handle, then I turned the key the rest of the way. Door opened no problem. There is a bit of resistance, but not much.

Also, if you are going to jumpt start the car, turn ON the headlight siwtch before you hook up the jumper cables. The lights will act as a "buffer" for any electrical spikes or dips to help protect the rest of the electronics. It will take a bit longer to juice up the battery enough to start, but its worth it to protect the OBC, etc. Leave the lights on until you disconnect the jumper cables. Once its running on its own with no cables connected, you can turn off the lights to help charge the batt as the car runs.

Good luck

My 735i have been working great until a few days ago I couldn't open the door with my key any more. i tried both sides and didn't work. The anti-theft system was off. I can open the back trunk though. Is there any trick?
I planned to use the car for my relocation, so it sucks at this moment. Any suggestion would be really appreciated.
Thanks!!!
