Blower running at High Speed only (SWORD?) (archive)

750iL : I think that I need to change the SWORD, I have read all the information in Bentley's and on this Forum and have tried to find it. Does anyone know if there is any difference to the location of this item on right hand drive cars. From the information, it looks as if it should be in the right hand foot well somewhere. All info relates to LHD and before I remove the Glove Compartment and find out that I should be on the other side it would be useful to know.
Any ideas?
Just in case it's not the Sword, I will give the symtoms below.
Other morning, put the Front screen defrost blower on. When I switched it off the blower motor stayed at high speed.
When one puts the fan speed to HIGH on the speed controller, the motor runs faster but there is no speed control on the dial, and cannot switch it off. Park/Ventilation system works OK. Have removed front control module and still exhibits the same problem.
