Owen,
The engine trouble you are refering to is the cylinder wall wear problem which potentially can occur in any 4.0 liter, V8, 7 series BMW up to mid 1995. Also, 1995 is the first year of the current body style. If I were doing it again I would go with a 12 cylinder or a 1996 or newer 7 series. Good Luck,
Rick
Are there any years I should steer clear of? I keep hearing about engine troubles with 93's. I used to have an '88 735 that was the best car I ever had but my son liberated it from me. I want to find something perhaps not quite so old but don't want to spend more than 20K. Any input would be appreciated.
