I too wondered the same thing. I have found however that the windows on my car (88 735i) don't need to be reprogrammed after I disconnect and reconnect the battery terminals. It is always fine after I reconnect the battery and I have never had any problems without reprogamming them.
Maybe yours is the same,
Tim Bryan
I was reading through my new Bentley 7 series manual and found some information regarding the one touch window program.

The passage, on page viii, states that if the battery is disconnected, the one touch window function and pinch protection would need to be re-programmed. The passage refers the reader to the windows and door section.

The windows and door section makes no mention of this functionality. I called Bentley Friday and they agreed that the information was missing. The will be calling me back when they have an answer.

In the meantime, does anyone out there know how to perform this re-programming of the windows. I searched through the archives but didn't come up with an answer.

I will post Bentley's response to me when I hear from them.

Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays to all.

Joe.
