Seems to me Alex had a trans/heat related issue.
As I recall, it was related to his trans cooler.
He thought it may have been the dreaded A-pack
failure, but shifting was restored after restoring
adequate cooling. Wonder if your cooling lines
through the rad are plugged.
Seems to me, if its temperature related its probably not the trans computer unless you are
getting a read out on the display. Incidently
its never a bad idea to pull off your consile
wood facia and spray a little tuner spray into
the trans select switch which interfaces with the
Alex....can you shed some light?

735i Automatic HP22,
After sitting in traffic seems like my tranny acts up
and starts up in 3rd gear. it only happens when car is idling for a very long time and tranny gets very hot.
I usally have to let it cool down and then all the gears work fine. I've already replaced tranny and just recently it started doing it again. could this be a computer prob.??
