I believe my 7 series has the know problem with the rough idle and vibration, i read on a website about it how the us gas deteriorates the cylinder walls and causes leak down. But the dealer insists that that isnt the problem and not one block in a 7 series has been replaced on the entire west coast, not only wont they fix it but they are saying theyre not even going to do a leak down test. Now there is a diagnostic computer that tells the mechanic if a manual leak down needs to be done or not but is this reliable

Your dealer is just plain wrong. Bear in mind the warranty is only good for 6yrs or 100K, so if your car is a '94 you want to have this done REALLY soon. Have a manual leak down test done either by another dealer or an independent tech and give the results to your dealer to see what they say. Even if you have to pay for the test, it's worth it. The new engine will cost you at lease $8,000 (that's before installation) if it's not covered.

Good luck,

Maximillian Importing
