The dealership just called and they said they couldn't find anything wrong with the suspension/bushings so they are going to balance the tires, and see what happens... $50 hope this does the trick.

Don't you love your 92 735i? i love the damn thing to death. Next thing is an alarm and auto start for the cold days

My car has a very very slight shimmy to it.. and it shook under breaking... so i replaced all 4 pads and rotors.. the shake under breaking is completely gone...
Now there is a very slight shimmy when i drive, and if i go over some bumps in the road the cars wants to follow the bumps...

Any ideas?... it's at the dealership now, they are trying to figure out the problem.. they aren't going to do any work to the car unless they call me and give me an estimate and i approve.

Thanks for any help

Does the car shimmy mostly at the speeds between say 40-60 mph? If so it could more so probably be the thrust arm bushings. Tires that are out od round as well as rotors that are out of round will have the same effect. The cheapist thing to do is try a good tire balancing machine to balance the tires. Worn ball joints will cause it to track the roads or follow the grooves of the road. Basically you need to check the entire front suspension. There are alot of talk about shimmy in the archives. BTW, a few months ago I had the same problem, turned out it was the thrust arm bushings. Replaced them and now I am speeding once again at 120 mph.
