I just relplaced the battery on my '89 750il. There are several batteries you can use but I have never been one to use a cheap battery...it will cost you in the long run. I purchased an Interstate 850CCA w/ vent hole. Battery and installation $100.00!! You can do it yourself but you will develop new curse words if you have power rear seats. Best of luck!

Trying to find info on replacing the battery on my mom's 1992 735iL. The dealer wants $145 for the battery - says it's got a vent hole not on regular batteries. Is this really necessary? How about a Diehard battery (size?)?

Also, how do you get to it under the back seat? I'm not familiar with BMW's.
