The price might be fine if everything checks out. With one shock leaking, the other may be right behind, so I'd tell the dealer I'd buy it if he replaced both rear shocks, and IF, a big if, you could take it to the BMW dealership and have them check everything out, especially the electronics on their diagnostic computer. One new shock and one old may make it ride funny. Check the accumulators.
The miles are fairly low, but age on the rubber parts can mean replacing a lot of little things that each cost a lot of money/labor. So make sure they haven't all been postponed for the new owner (you) to replace.
The engine should easily go 250,000 to 350,000 miles. The transmission? maybe 150,000 to 200,000? Depends a lot on who drove it and how well it was maintained. If always dealer maintained it should be a great car.
I put 185,000 miles on my previous 735i and it was tight as a drum when I sold it. Probably the best car I ever had. Then I got 12 cylinder fever. I hope there's a cure....
Good luck.

1990 750iL

Hello Everyone
I first of all love the E32 BMW's. I went to a local Lexus dealer the other day and found an excellent 1990 735iL in wonderful condition. It has a 6 disc BMW cd changer, leather, sunroof, just about every option except the Traction Control. The salesman was telling me about a shock leak in the rear shock, and he would replace it regardless of price. This car is fully maintained by the local BMW dealer, and has 106k miles, which isnt too bad. I was wondering if 8900 dollars for this vehicle is worth it?
