My wipers made clunking sounds when on various speeds.
If you grabbed the arm and tried to move it you could feel play in the links.

They finally packed up !
the fix was very simple and cheap 7pounds for a new link arm, its two nylon joints had worn out completely.
now the wipers are wisper quiet
