Lance,
I recently bought a 1989 750il ($7,750) to replace my wifes 96 Lincoln Contintal. The car had 137K and was in excellent condition. Even so I still to date (about 1 mo) have spent almost 2K. I replaced tires, brakes, rotors turned, thrust arm bushings , voltage regulator, and other various minor things that are normal wear items. With that being said I am essentially finished and the car is nearly 100%.
Plan on spending a few bucks fixing the minor stuff and spend some bucks on having a BMW guy check everthing out.
I really don't know what a fair price is for the car since I have not seen it but a well maintained 750 shold last another 100K before any super major repairs. Oil changes/frequency are mandatory.
The 750 is an awesome car with performance to match.
By the way...after driving the car I gave my wife my '87 635 L6 and kept the 750. Good luck

I am considering the purchase of a 1991 750iL to replace my 1994 Lincoln MK VIII. The Lincoln has been great except for a broken valve spring (recently). The 750 has 68,000 miles, one owner, will have it inspected before purchase.

My questions are: what is a fair (base) price? What types of problems should I expect? What is the life expectancy? Quite frankly, will I be miserable paying for repairs is the real question! I had a '76 2002 years ago and it ate me up...always had a problem. Will things be different this time around. Thanks!

Lance
