From your description, it sounds like the driveshaft u-joints are the problem, especially since the center bearing and transmission mounts have already been replaced. I have exactly the same problem and I, too, have replaced the center bearing and transmission mounts. Call Hendricks BMW in Charlotte about a new driveshaft. If you are a BMWCCA member they offer a 25% discount. I have been quoted $561 for a new driveshaft. This is comparable to the cost of a rebuilt unit.

I am experiencing a vibration in the driver's side seat when I accelerate up to and thru 30 MPH. Also, if I coast, at 30 MPH to 40 MPH I also feel the vibration. If I take the car up to 50 to 60 MPH, the vibration goes away.

One year ago I replaced the trans mounts and also the center support bearing. Any ideas.

On the board, I have read about drive train shutter under power and the causes were trans mounts, center support bearing and/or U joints on the drive shaft. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks Jim
