there is freon in the system through sigh-glass if the the clutch wasn't working? Any way, you need to hook-up the gauges to verify how much left freon the system has. Too little, no AC, too much, no AC. If there is enought freon, then check the electrical parts such as wiring, fuses,or the clutch itself.

P.S. if the outside temps is too low - read cold- ac won't turn on either.
