I can only hear noise when car is start moving.
Its louder at low gear and when let go the gas-pedal car slows down fast. It not that cold where I live here in California.

When engine/transmission is cold I can hear whining noise, after about 3 miles drive noise gone. I am thinking about changing transmission oil and filter. If you had same problem and got fixed, let me know how you did it.

94' 740i, 110K mile.

It is hard to tell from what you describe. My advice to you would be to try to isolate the noise. If you are sure that it is transmission related, then I would change the fluid and the filter. Bring it to a shop that knows how, because the transmission in your car is "maintenance free" and the procedure to change the fluid is more complicated than a standard automatic transmission. It it not a DIY job, and runs about $250 to $300, as the fluid alone is $130. Good luck.
