It is for the built in radar detector.


There are a set of lights to the right of the tach, above the fuel gauge on my 89 750iL. The bottom light is green, the next 3-4 lights are yellow, and the top light is red. Does anyone know what these lights are for?


the lights are for oil service timing.The car measures milage and driving style as you drive further the green lights will not light up at start up when they have all vanished and only the orange and red light show its time for a service it is also affected by how you drive if you spend more time at high speed it will change alot faster.
