735i aftermarket performance options? (archive)

I'm buying a 1990 735iL w/ 140K tomorrow as a new daily driver. (My other car is a '93 RX7). I don't particularly care for the light blue color (rather have black or white), but it's a sweet car and a great deal.

I understand that this is a luxury car, not performance oriented, but I want performance too. I understand that there are serveral aftermarket chips, exhausts, suspension setups, intakes, etc. available and I'd like to take advantage of any technology that will increase performance without sacrificing reliablility or too much gas mileage.

Can anyone suggests some reasonable performance modification options for this car?
