Boge also makes a slightly firmer shock which on stock springs may be a good compromise. I need for my colleague to come up from DC to baltimore, where I routinely drive. I avoid all the manhole covers and potholes, because if not I get a rude surprise.

As for sport vs HD, perhaps the better ride on lowered springs is due to the fact that the HD's are actually optimized for a higher ride height with similar valving, thus helping to prevent the bottoming out sensation as well as flattening the bumpier ride since they are under more charge at baseline. The sports definitely help in the fast smooth corners though. Great way to get guys and gals in the back seat a little closer ;)
