Replacing Front Strut Cartridge on cars with EDC (archive)

I would like to install new front struct inserts on my 735IL. My car has the Electronic Damping Control.

Can the original strut housing be used? They have two electronic connectors on the bottom of the strut.

I don't want to dismantle them if they cannot be reused.
