Never been in deep by the dash, but my 735 came without the black plastic trim cap over the fixing nut for the drivers wiper. Pop that up ( it hinges up, lever at the very bottom rounded end of the wiper) and you'll see the pressure adjusting set screw (allen key) in the "subarm" which attaches to the main arm by a strong spring. Maybe try some penetrating lubricant down the shaft with the set screw loosened and/or whole arm off?

For this sort of stuff I use CRC 606 silicone lube - very thin, penetrates well, very slippery and waterproof too... maybe you can work the shaft in and out? I'm working from my usual thought that parts exposed to the elements fail first, eg shaft would rust/seize before whole gearbox...

Have fun.
