ANyone ever replaced a tranny in a 88 750il (archive)

i did and once it was in the engine was confused, stared idleing at about 4K RPM and in drive full throtle with my foot no where near the gas! Anyone ever heard of this know why it happens? Please respond. - Also anyone know any good performance mods for the 750il 88. New tranny gave car new life but any other help would be most appreciated.
